Hi My Name is Steve and Welcome to Making A Million Dollars!

This site MakingaMillionDollars.com is a blog that documents my journey of making a million dollars, while discussing personal finance, investing and starting small businesses to generate passive income streams.

I grew up in St. Louis Missouri in a single parent household where money was tight. My 2 brothers and I would cut grass or snow shovel to make money when we were young. I started working when I was 15 and have never stopped.

I went to school to be a pilot and earned my commercial pilots license and instrument rating. I got a 4 year degree in Aeronautics while working my way through school by working nights and taking out student loans. I then got a M.B.A while working for McDonnell Douglas Aerospace Co. in St. Louis.

I got married and have 2 great kids who are now in their early 20’s. Through the years while struggling to meet bills and running up credit cards and having student loans to pay off, I started learning about the hard realities of money. I have worked in the corporate world for years now and truly enjoy my career in aerospace.

In 2006, I started to think we would never really get caught up on our bills and our debt continued to climb. I bought a bigger house which meant more bills and responsibility. I bought electronics regularly as I was somewhat of a tech junkie. We had car loans and credit card debt and both of us worked to make ends meet.

As my kids got older I had more time on my hands. My son was very smart when it came to the online world as I like to call it. He started talking to me about ways people made money online with google adsense and affiliate marketing. I started researching these areas of online marketing and started my first blog on Bulk Candy Vending. It was very simple and I wrote basic articles on how to start a vending route. I put some adsense ads on it and to my surprise it started bringing in money. I then added ebooks to it that I got commission from and then had a company offer me a monthly payment to place an ad on the blog. I was hooked!

Once you start making money online it is very addictive. I then got into other programs and started a wholesale auction site that still generates me over $1000 a month in passive income. I started getting into other affiliate marketing programs and at one point was making over $10,000 a month in 2008. Many of these were credit related and when the economy and markets fell off so did they. Luckily I still had other sites that were bringing in some income.

I didn’t stop there and decided to buy Twitter Application sites and develop them with my son. He is a web designer and learned php programming and now maintains these sites. One of our websites is ReTweet.it which continues to bring in an additional stream of income.

During the peak of 2008 I was able to pay all of my debt off and became debt free outside of my mortgage payment on the house. We have since downsized and I plan on paying this house off quickly with my current online income. I continue to read and educate myself on new ways to make money online and always have new projects in the fire, just ask my son

My goal now is to take my extra income that I make from online sources of income or other businesses and to invest this money using wealth building strategies. I want to retire early and with well over a million dollars in net worth. I enjoy a nice salary from my regular job and use the the additional income to build my wealth. I love to talk to others about finance and investing and especially starting small businesses or websites.

I have learned much over the years about my personal finances, investing and building online businesses that work. None of them have been get rich quick schemes and have taken time to develop and grow. I now have lived in Florida for over 10 years and love the warmth and life that this area provides to us.

I wanted to start this blog to keep my goal in front of me and to also provide useful information and insight to those readers of MMD – MakingAMillionDollars.com
